Hey everyone I have a 2010 tC and the reason I signed up for this site is I’m a mechanically inclined person but not a car mechanic. I was involved in a 3 car fender bender and ever since have had check engine. The damage on the front is the drive headlight hood bumper fender area and I don’t know if or how this triggered my issues. I just need to figure this out because my inspection is up, I’m attaching the photo of the screen Auto Zones Code Reader came up with keep in mind I changed both O2 sensors (8-10 months ago) and Mass Air Flow sensor (a week ago) I’m attaching photos of the car and the codes please give me advice I don’t know where to start but as an electrician I feel like the problem has to do with the condenser being pushed back which pushed the battery back causing a right fit on my positive wire harness, or maybe the hood being bent open caused water damage to a computer, any advice is appreciated

 

You need a print out of the "scan data" section of the report. That should give you all the trouble codes that tripped your CEL. I can see several codes in the pic but I don't know how long the list scrolls. Once printed (or written down) you can take the list to a trusted mechanic who knows how to prioritize the codes and investigate each one if necessary. The collision might have whacked one or several electrical parts. Might have also whacked a common ground that's affecting your various codes.

 

Ok thank you, the autozone I was at said they were unable to print it for some reason, the ground makes sense, I noticed a plug with what looked like a single wire behind the driver headlight and it’s coming from a group of wires I was curious what it goes to or if it’s for the option of fog lights because I have nothing to pair it with

 

Yeah, that sounds like a fog light connector.

There may be ground lug(s) in or around the fender well. They'll most likely be bolted to sheet metal. You can follow the ground lug back toward respective electrical components, looking for cuts or frays along the way.

 

Ok I am going to try to check it out tomorrow starting with disconnecting the battery and trying to reset everything and Checking out the wires connected there along with the sensors dealing with air intake and exhaust I have a feeling it’s got to do with that or there is a harness running along the front end of the car where the cable to pop the hood runs, that latch doesn’t work Bc that cable is pinned so I think it’s gotta be in one of those two places given that’s where the accident happened I do have some rattling when I first start the car and put it in reverse but that’s the only time so I thought that was frozen water due to cold temps but I guess I’ll try looking at the exhaust too, I feel like it’s one thing causing all those codes and they all do emissions stuff so
