HELP wont start
I was installing my new Optima batter and I accidentally shorted the positive end with the negative end. Now the car wont start. The basic things turn on like the dome light, the clock, the gauges, the initial warning lights, when i turn the key to the acc position. But when I turn it to the ON position nothing else turns on. The windows wont go up or down, my gauges that are hooked in with the cigarette lighter dont turn on, the locks dont lock / unlock, the stereo doesnt turn on, and the car wont turn over or even attempt to turn over. I checked every single fuse... the ones inside the engine bay and under the steering wheel. I did find one bad fuse in the engine bay and changed it, nothing happened. I dont hear a click when I turn it to the start position so Im thinking its the "ST" start relay. But would that affect the stereo and the locks from working? Also the scion security doesnt activate and I cant lock the doors with the remote. Basically everything that turns on when you turn the key to the ON position doesnt turn on. I am still able to connect ot the ECM with my scan gauge, so I dont think the ECM is fried.... but you never know. I got the code P2118, but after i cleared it, it went away. What do you all think?
Check all the fuses again and verify with the manual if you've missed something or not. Other than that you possibly must have fried some wire somewhere and would need a complete diagnosis. Sorry to hear your accident man. Hope you get your car fixed.
Im all fixed up. I went through all the fuses again and relized that the ALT 120A fuse was blown. When I went by it the first time it looked ok, but it really wasnt. Man what a pain in the @ss to get it out. Anyway, sorry to waste anyones time who actually read this.
