And there's another video of it running 14.11 @ 98 with "just an exhaust."

I have a hard time believing it. Maybe non-stock rubber from the looks of it, and dropping a lot of weight, and a few unlisted mods. A car doesn't gain 7mph from one power mod.

I agree.. That's complete BS, there is no way it's running that ET or trap speed with just exhaust.

Even with I/H/E and tires I doubt they would hit that high of a trap speed.

Is it possible to control the lift on the tC or is this something that has to come with the engine when it's purchased? Can it be converted from VVT-i to VVTL-i?

The Si does run low 15's to high 14's depending on the driver, mid 15's would be a horrid driver starting out in 2nd gear. I/h/e can yeild almost a full second off the time, given it has lift cams, the gearing, and all the power on the top end allows that to be possible. With just an exhaust, i would also doubt 14.11.

It would take a big change. vvt-i changes the cam timing by adjusting the angle of the cam in relation to the gear. But there are no extra lobes with higher lift on this motor like a -L would have.

I wish more manufacturers would follow ferraris lead (heh heh) and produce continous grind cams so continuously variable valve lift could be utilized. :D

I might want to also bring up, although most tC owners will disagree with this. The Ep3 Si is dead equal to a tC. It has been proven more times than disproved. With i/h/e and a light weight crank pulley, i have seen a few ep3's hit high 14's to low 15's. The point of this is to say that taken that much time off with just a few mods is fairly easy on hondas due to their design. They respond much better to mods than the 2az does. N/a of course. I know your going to disagree with me and thats fine, but i'm not bais and i don't care really what you guys think of my comments. Why not? Because half the community easily thinks their tCs are much faster than what they are, making far fetched claims as to "I smoked _____ last night" and stuff like that.

Very good thread. More n/a power with the 2AZFE is certainly possible and will come in due time as the market and aftermarket continue to grow...
