Default How to fix a stuck moonroof?

Hello everyone, sorry if this has been posted before.

Sometimes my moonroof gets stuck and I need to press and hold the power button while pushing the roof back. Up until now, I’ve had my dealer lube the trails and it worked fine for months. But now they’re saying they need to part the moonroof engine apart because that’s what needs lubing and asked $150. Hmmm. Is it true? Is it easy to do it myself? Any other solution?

I have a 2006 Scion tC.

Thanks

Naw, the motor is fine. Disconnect your battery and that will reset it causing the sunroof to function properly. Sounds like the sunroof is mentally stuck, not physically. Dealers don't seem to be very knowledgeable on this sort of thing. You will need to physically reset your windows as well. Look it up, it's all over this forum. Give it a try and let us know.

Thanks

I just had a flat dead battery and replaced it with a brand new one. Still having issues with the roof, but I think it's because it needs some lubing. I hope that will do the trick.
