Default How to properly "re-teach" the ECU after clearing

After installing my "kinda-intake", I got a CEL (check engine light). I did a search here and found out how to clear it, but all the threads were vague about how to re-teach the ECU after clearing the CEL. Most say "idle for 15 minutes, then slowly progress from easy to moderate to aggressive driving" or thereabouts. Following these directions, I got the car running fine but the next day the CEL lit again. My question is, does anyone know specifically what I need to do? Do I have to follow this teaching process more than once? What specifically is easy/moderate/aggressive driving? Does throttle position come into play as well? Thanks in advance guys....

If you're still getting a CEL, you might want to get that code read. Take it to AutoZone or another local parts store that'll read your code for free. You may have another issue.

Also, what do you mean "kinda-intake"?

Yup...

The CEL should be a rare issue with a CAI addition. Unless of course...you damaged the MAF sensor.

It's basically a MAF adapter and a K&N cone filter.

The MAF was babied...I'm sure I didn't damage it. The car runs fine after a reset with the stock airbox...it's just the adapter/filter that's setting it off.

The cause of a CEL light on an intake is because the MAF housing is too large for the MAF to calibrate properlly.
