Default Injen intake filter

what size is the injen intake filter?

does anyone think you could switch that filter for a smaller filter?

I believe it's 3" (The diameter that attaches to the intake)

Why switch to a smaller one? The Injen filter is fine. Plus it's a K&N (Best filters around).

well, I had it on and it rubbed and put a small hole in the filter. i then switched to weapon r, which fits better overall. but i think there might be more low end hesitation with the weapon r so i want to try the injen out again.
this time around i am going to take a silicone hose and cover the part where the filter rubs.
so the k&N filter has the same size specs as the injen filter?

i see..well for me at first i did the injen sri and left it on for about a week. when first installing, it put a small hole in the filter too. my bro thought that was kinna risky so we put his old injen filter on. its slightly smaller but fit extremely well. no rubbing at all. im not sure about the dimensions but the length is the same and the diameter at the closed end of the filter is probably .25-.5 inches smaller then the one that came with it. IMO Injen needs to get those little things fixed. they should provide filters that would fit better in BOTH SR and CA mode. also the rubber connecters were a little too big to connect the throttle body to the intake pipe; sure after tighting it on was sufficient but it sorta still has some folds..u know what i mean? but overall the intake is great in both short ram and cold air mode. good luck and enjoy whatever intake you decide on

i hear what you are saying about the rubber connectors being a little too big. i dont understand why injen doesn't just make something that fits a little tighter. i will try to find a k&N filter that might be a little smaller. but the same length.
as far as the connectors go i was almost thinking about trying out the weapon r connectors to see if they are compatible.

i am going back to the injen intake tonight. i just bought the aem air filter for it. i like think i might like this because it's an oil less filter so there is no chance that my MAF censor will get messed up.

well tried the oiless filter and the diameter at the end of the filter must be like a 1/4" inch bigger because there was no way i was going to fit it onto the intake without damaging the filter so i took it back to the store.

As far as the weaponr intake, i plan on selling it.
