Default Injen SES Axleback Pics and Video (no56k)

Installed my Injen SES axleback the other day, so here are some pics!

Note the new 3rd bracket. I'm using the highly technical "bottle cap" method of adjusting where the tip sits.

This is where the tip is after "bottlecapping". Before, it was about 1cm from the bumper. Probably would have been fine, but I feel better this way.

On the first revision, this exhaust would hang really low. Seems like they've fixed this problem.

VIDEOS!!!

Outside the car. This one is my least favorite, because it is an awful representation of the sound. It misses all the bassy goodness that makes up 90% of the exhaust's character.

Idling

Inside the car, windows up

Driving away from a stoplight with the windows down. If you suffer from motion sickness, you may not want to watch this!

Thats a nice exhaust, I used to have one until i got a loud exhaust ticket (cop was a dick). I too had to wedge something into my rear hanger to get enough bumper clearance. In time, my wedge fell out and my hanger was stretched enough for good clearance.

It seems the general consensus is that the Precision Muffler is probably the quietest aftermarket.

Everyone says the TRD is so quiet, but I never thought so. This Injen seems about 20% louder, but that may be due to it's low notes that resonate in the cabin.

If you're asking me, the axleback was $315 from a SL member, but you can find it for around $350 usually. The supercharger was a little more expensive.

Sounds, and LOOKS really nice. Thanks for deciding to post the vids/pics. I like the solution you used for getting the exhaust to hang slightly lower. Good stuff!

I can't wait for the stream of comments on youtube about how tC's suck, people calling me a ricer, or other general negative feedback. Only one so far, but there's still time.

I know it's mostly 14y/o kids who don't even own a car, but it's amazing how passionate people are with what they don't like

This is about as loud as the megan with s and mid pipe. It's lower Hz than the TRD, but in the same ballpark for loudness. I've pretty much given up on my search for a quiet and "high performance" exhaust, and am concentrating on sound deadening to reach my goals. Spent Sunday afternoon listening to the Eagles spank the Lions, using Raammat and closed cell foam to deaden the hatch. I noticed a little improvement, mostly due to the foam stuffed into the open spaces. Next to do the rear quarters and sides of the car.

happy b-day!

I guess when you're looking for a quiet exhaust, every one sounds loud. If you want quiet aftermarket, you should hear the Megan OE-RS axleback with everything else stock. Literally 10% louder than stock. It's strange though; no matter the rpm, it makes the same pitch sound.

After some, ahem, consultation from my wife, we've determined this exhaust is still too loud for us. Check the PPC section for this exhaust on sale now
