Default Installed Ingalls Torque Damper

I LOVE the feeling. The motor isn't flopping around anymore.

The pedal is down to business now, when the car takes off there is a slight vibration because the motor wants to just rock back and take a lil power that it should be immediately applying wheels when you want it. The damper is hard at work preventing this.

Shifting is smoother as each gear is ready to roll, soon as the clutch comes out the power is there with no lag from the motor rocking around.

If you just let on and off the pedal you can tell what a difference it really makes, which for me is awesome in AutoX - reaction times and putting the power down comming out of corners is critical.

Anyways - I think for anyone serious in putting there mods to good use and keeping the power down - GET ONE. I am impressed.

Some pics of the damper. Any questions, I'd be glad to answer.

it will help sticks shift better, but not having the engine going all over the place will help both transmissions. reason being, wheel hop is controlled.

Its adjustable but hard without the exact tool needed which I couldnt seem to find anywhere. So mine ended up with a few scratches... worked great though on my auto and I'll get another soon enough!

Its useless unless you put it on the max stiffness. I still had wheel hop with the stock setting.

I set mine to 11mm to is the stiffest 14mm is the softest 10mm is the stiffest.

I didn't want it soft.

You do get some cabin noise (which I like) but I think that a lil piece of dynamat or phat mat on the shock tower can reduce the sound if for some reason it bothers you.

I will be putting some on and I will let you know how it sounds afterwards.

Does this get in the way of the DC strut bar at all? Any modifications necessary due to the strut bar?

Nope fit perfect... I had no problems - I just mounted the strut bar on top of it.

Here is a pic:

I put washers under the driver side of the strut bar to make sure the strut bar was level... make sure the washers are as thick as the damper bracket though.

if one damper isnt enough then you should get some stiff motor mounts... or solid mounts that would sure cure any motor movement you have lol

would the price/ advantage ratio be great enough to justify buying this if I have no engine mods (besides CAI)?

Well it helps to prevent wheel hop which could lead to more broken parts.

Just say 'no' to wheel hop.
