Installed Ingalls Torque Damper
#121
Hi guys, this thread has been idle for a while, but I was driving yesterday and wanted to get through an intersection fast, and even with nice tires, I felt like I was bouncing through the intersection (wheel hop). So i found this thread and read through it, heres my question:
I know you all said that it adds noise and vibration, but just thinking logically, but restricting the movement of the engine and not letting it do what it wants, isn't that adding a lot of stress to the engine and potentially damaging it???

I've been trying to get some help with mine. I am having 2 problems with mine that I just installed.
First, the noise is so unbearably loud on 15mm that I can't even drown it out with an aftermarket sound system and i layed it down on 2 layers of dynamat.
The install is fairly straight forward, but the only place where I potentially could have gone wrong, is the order of the parts; for the strut mount bracket, I have:
nut>bracket>metal washer>cloth reinforced rubber washer (from home depot)>damper>bolt (the bolt being on bottom, nut being on top):
For the engine mount bracket, I have bolt>bracket>metal washer>cloth reinforced rubber washer>damper>nut (the nut being on the engine side).
Now I realize that I have the 2 connections slightly differently, could that be a problem?
Second, every once in a while when I accelerate or brake or corner, I hear a slight 'ping' that is only audible w/o the radio on. Any ideas?
Is there a break-in period or something?
Sorry for taking up so much space, i'm just DESPERATE here! Thanks!
