Default intake on my 09 scion?

im debating on getting a trd intake or a injen? i wanna get the trd cause it has the bypassvalve so no water gets in there but i heard that causes restriction and less air is flowing. i wanna get injen too but there is no bypaass valve and it rains a good amount here so how can i make that so no water gets inthere. and what is a good site to order these for cheap?

www.wesellcarparts.com

Btw, there are a lot of threads about intakes. Just search next time.

have you ever driven through water a foot deep where you live.If not then do not worry about it and get the Injen, also suggest the Ingen cause if you do have regular flooding in the Fall and winter you can just take it to short ram,TRD you cannot.

As for sites to order from I am not sure, have not looked in a long time to see who has the lowest price on an intake.

You can purchase a bypass valve from AEM here http://www.aemintakes.com/air_bypass_valve.htm

the bypass on the TRD is the AEM one too........we installed it on my buddies intake and it fits right in place of the rubber flange inbetween the two pipes.

wouldn't he have to purchase the TRD intake for the TRD bypass though? The TRD intake is just a rebadged AEM anyway no?

If he gets the trd intake it comes with the bypass, but I believe it is just an AEM intake with the bypass added like xiemperor said.

Cant you convert the trd to short ram? Just put aside the piping after the bpv, and put the filter where the bpv is. Wouldn't that work? I havent tried it, so don't assume this to be true.

you can order the Injen CAI from lastlookcustoms.com
for $235.00

if anyone orders from stuart from last look customs make sure you tell him what year you need (add to cart automatically will add the 05-06 model) and also what color you need as well (chrome or black)

Hes also very good at getting back to you through email since the email is set up through his blackberry
