i just installed one of those cheap ebay intakes. i know that they make a whistling sound, mine does it through all the gears the whole time i accelerate. is that normal.
also my cel came on. after messing with the maf the cel came off. my question is when the key is turned to the acc does your cel stay on, mine does. never noticed it before. thanks

 

uh...if it stays on even after the first few seconds your car is on, then the intake is probably causing a CEL. and...if theres a whistling sound you might have something loose or an air leak which might be why you have a CEL.

 

cel is only on when the key is turned to acc, but when i turn the car on no cel. my question is, on anybodys car, is the cel on when the key is turned to acc only, not when the motor is on

 

yeah it stays on till the vehicle starts, its to make sure the light running it is still working, well that's how it was explained to me... but what if it doesn't work anymore? what light tells you that? lol, and the whistling is always going to happen, especially if its short ram.
