Default Intake Reviews

Trying to decide what type of intake to get and was wondering if any owners of the the Injen, Weapon R, K&N, etc.... intakes could give me their thoughts on them and hopefully provide any personal dyno charts

Thanks

The reviews there are actually very limited and there's mainly only reviews for the injen.

well pretty much SW is putting out the best numbers right? but it's still not a CAI, INJEN and K&N are nearly identical, and the difference is so miniscule that you would never be able to tell the difference, there is a price difference however between the KN and the INJEN, and the only difference is the slight numbers and the fact that INJEN can go to a SR if you live in a highly precipitated area

o yeah, and none of them are CARB exempt, although INJEN is pending... not sure bout KN though

Does anyone have the Wepon-R Dragon Intake? I know they made one for the Tc, but don't know anyone who uses it.

I don't know much about the WR Dragon Intake, but i've heard only good reviews on the WR Secret Weapon Intake and from a previous post someone said it gave the most HP out of all the intakes

everyone here around my city likes the sound of the secret weapon-r on the tC. the name "secret weapon-r" gets alot of respect here...

i would go Injen tho, its both short and CAI.. i really need a CAI because my engine is really heating up from the header...

i would rather get a secret weapon instead of a dragon... i think the piping is different from each other, and the filter is suppose to be different... how about getting the dragon intake and secret weapon filter?

How much is the Injen compared to the WR Secret Weapon? Why would it matter if the Injen is CAI when the WR Secret Weapon someone said produced the most HP out of all the intakes.

I have the WR intake and its great! it performs great and it sounds mean. ive got the WR cold air box and the ram air kit accessories also. this way the intake gets cold air and the box shields the filter from getting heat soaked. after a long drive if i open my hood the box is cold! also being a short ram there is no chance of sucking up water and hydrolocking the engine.

a buddy of mine recently got the injen intake, it can convert to a short ram but then it still isnt drawing cold air from the outside of the car via ram air kit. the filter is also not protected from heatsoak by a cold air box. the injen does sound good, but after my friend heard my intake, and saw the expandability options on the WR SW intake he wishes he had bought the WR.

hope this helps

The air at the SRI location is the same as outside the car where the CAI location is while the car is moving. It's been measured and there are pictures to prove it... I don't have the link anymore but I am sure someone does.

Also I find it funny that the intakes tout 'smoother air flow' and then you look at the WR Air Ram kit and it uses what looks like air ducting for a small fan in your house.

can someone prove to me that the weapon-R is putting out the best #'s.

they claim the 12 hp but i've seen only 7hp from it on charts on this and a different forum.

injen to my understand is the best so far. injen even has a dyno chart proving that it was 9hp over stock.

so my best bet is to go with INJEN

You will have the versatility of a CAI and a short ram by getting the injen also the best looking unit so far. In addition the HP numbers are marginally better according to the dynos.

Does anyone have a personal dyno of the injen? also I heard you have to take off your bumper to switch to the CAI which most people I doubt would even hassle with it and keep it SRI if it wasnt' installed a CAI the first time
