Intake Sound Increase
Ok I was lookin at purchasing an intake for my tC, and wanted to go with the weapon r secret weapon. I was wondering how much of a sound increase I will have, since I already have a DC Sports exhaust. Now don't get confused, I want it to make my car louder, so if a CAI injen or K&N will make it louder, please tell me. I want my tC to sound MEAN!!!!

I have the injen and i am very happy w/ it. at low speeds it is not very loud, and you will hear a light whistle sound. step on the gas and it will growl at you, so loud the poeple in the cars around you will turn and look as you pass them.
I have watched a video of the SW and it sounded nice too but i cannot compare the 2 b/c mine is the only one i have herd in person. hope this helps

Secret Weapon-R will sound "louder" than the K & N and Injen as CAI. Since the Weapon-R is a short and closer to you, therefore the sounds reaches you faster.
Now I have not heard the aformentions CAI set Short. But I have heard first hand the Weapon being louder form inside the car.
Why not get an Injen and have best of both worlds (Short Ram and Cool Air). Might want to try giving ZPI or http://thescionstore.com a call. I know they have the best deals on intakes I've found so far. Around 200 bucks...
Good Luck

you want an intake just for the sound? rip your stock box apart and keep the filter attached. done
then you should look into the turbo sounding part that clips on to your tail pipe...

a CAI alone does not do much but it works well w/ other mods
there are several reasons to make a 4 cycl fast.
a few reasons
1 you can make a 4 cyl car just as fast as most other cars if not faster
2 you can save money by going 4 cyl example tc 17,000.00 +4000.00 for zpi
stage 1 kit, puts you at 21,000.00 and you have a 330hp car that will out run just about anything on the street.
3 sleeper factor, you would not expect a tc to out run mustangs, 350z ect.
i hope this helps you understand
plus hp is addictive, once you add a mod and you can feel a difference, you just cant wait for the next one.
i agree that i hope tc do not become the next civic racer, that is one of the reasons i bought a tc was b/c you dont see a whole lot of them on the street.

I just installed my Weapon-R Secret Weapon yesterday. Took only 25 minutes including removing my old intake. After resetting my ECU and driving for about 50 or so miles I can say that it definitely is worth the investment. Can't quite say yet if I notice the 8hp increase. If anything the mild increase in HP feels more like the throttle is smoother in rolling acceleration. Who knows, that could just be my butt dyno talking.
I notice more than anything that when I get on the gas she howls! and has a cool pseudo-turbo whistle at partial throttle. Overall it sounds awesome and agressive.

Hell the little black plastic tube that attaches to the stock air box fell off today and the motor got a deeper sound LOL . I thought they screwed up my car when it was in for an oil change . Instead it was the tube from the fender that fell off ROFL I think ia m gonna leave it off LOL

Yeah the air box is still attached its just the black pipe that goes into the fender that fell off . Like I said I noticed the engine was alittle deeper sound to it (NO not a huge difference but a change in pitch) . I thought it was kinda funny cuz it did give it a bit more of an aggresive sound to it LOL

Intake sound
I have the Injen CAI and that baby sounds sweet. At low speeds you will hear a slight wistle when your on and off the gas. If you really want to hear your intake sound off you can shift early in to your gear and floor it. My tC sounds like a WRX. No BS
