It also flows better because there is no more air filter except for the K&N filter at the end of course. I had to compromise because I did lose a bit of top end that the full K&N CAI provided but at least now I have a power increase throughout my whole powerband.

If you're an auto you lose gas mileage because of CAI's. This is because you lose so much torque in the low end that it takes more power to move the car. So you're reving your car higher to just get it moving.
CAI on any tranny isn't going to cause a loss of tq that great to really "suck". Also, CAI doesn't improve MPG but maybe 1mpg more. Its not enough power increase to do that, its just a step 1 of three to get the motor breathing right.

your engine can only breath as well as its most restrictive part will let it so you are correct
I know i am. Jk, well, i know i wasn't lying but i didn't want to sound too cocky.

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to disagree with all of you. For the K&N you would lose MPG because it is dyno proved by moster works that the A/F is messed up thus resulting in loss of MPG not gain. You lose power in the low end so its going to require more to move the car.

In most cases what you said is true but with this intake it is just messed up. The MAF readings on the K&N are screwed up. Everyone that has anything to say so far is basing off general knowledge. I'm basing it off experience and evidence from dynos.

Didn't mmw dyno it with their header? I don't recall them doing a dyno run with just the intake, you are probably right i just never saw that thread. Either way, i said at most you would see like 1MPG increase. I never said you wouldn't loose anything. However, i don't see how any intake can cause such a loss on the low end and gain on the high end. Either way it doesn't matter to me, i don't drive a tC and i wouldn't buy k&n to start with. Their products are too universal.
