Default Looking for Header and Exhaust suggestions..

Good morning,

I have a 2008 Scion tC that I’ve had for a couple of years and I want to get into doing some mods with a mechanic buddy of mine.

We want to change the exhaust out with a new header and a new exhaust system and we ideally want it to have a better sound than stock, but not unnecessarily loud (ideally not much louder than stock but still better sounding)

This is my first real modding adventure and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions that both are a good product that won’t break the bank. I don’t want cheap eBay parts but I still have to pay rent 😅

I also would like it to have some performance boost so if I need to have a small amount more noise to get some more power I’m okay with that as long as it is not excessive

Thanks in advance!

edit: I did some looking and I’m currently looking around a DC header, and a Greddy Ti/ Tsudo cat back OR just a Precision Muffler Axle back with the header, but as far as compatibility or other things I should know I’m kinda lost

does anyone have experience with these parts?

i want to limit the raspy bad sound from the header, but I’m not sure how to do that
