MAF sensor. what exactly are we supposed to be cleaning?

found a hole in a rubber evap hose where the little green evap service port was and replaced it and the code went away, passed emissions btw

bad news code came back about 150 miles after i passed emissions, went ahead and bought the CRC Mass Air Flow Cleaner, i guess they changed the label now it says in a bubble "Proven to Gain 4-10 Horsepower at the wheels!" dont really care but since you guys are seeing mpg gains must be right in a way, i think its just restoring the original power you lost since it got dirty : ) which is good for me. Well il be back with the results soon.
