I've currently got the Magnaflow Cat-Back on my Matrix XRS. Gotta say it sounds GREAT and it offers the highest hp/torque gain out of any other system available for the 'Trix (at least at this point in time.) Hopefully it'll be the same quality. If so, I'd probably get one for the tC once I get it.

Hmm the dyno results seem to be on par with other STOCK tC dynos that have been posted it, do you happen to have the dyno of the stock tC to compare the baseline numbers with the catback numbers?

Here are the base line dyno numbers on a stock 2005 tC Scion 5 speed
Those are basline numbers, not numbers with exhaust. At least thats what I gather from his post.

In that case, I'm awaiting the relese of the catback's dyno and pending on the outcome, I may get one.

... supposed gains are +6 on HP and torque across the board; I'm sure Richard will have more info on this hopefully by tomorrow if not early next week.

It should be 2.5in. 2.25in is stock piping size.

Perhaps they kept it 2.25 to keep the low end torque. 2.5 is a huge difference, but then again I am not them and not an expert in exhaust systems.

That is true Endless. Running 2.5" diameter system would result in a huge loss in bottom end torque. Remember guys, this system is going on a tC Scion that dynoed 143hp stock. So unless the car is has an output of 300hp+ at the wheels then a 2.5" system would be pointless. Big differences between a 2.25" stock system and a Magnaflow system are we use mandrel bends which increases flow by 20%, our system weighs less, and our muffler is straight through in design. I have no clue why imagestation sucks at hosting images.

Doesnt seem like it to me. Anyone remember the Weapon-R dyno. 12.4whp and 6.1 ftlbs were gained running open header. Thats almost no backpressure at all. I looked at the dyno curves and theres no loss in low end torque or power. Actually there was gains in torque at 2000rpms over stock.

Id go with 2.5in, its the best size for this motor.

those stock dyno numbers look good. magnaflow makes a great product, so i know their system will be the best out there.

Magnaflow always has the good stuff, thats why I stock them. :D And if the cat back is available soon that means that I will have them at the Scion Central as well. :D
