You mis understood. You cut the Mid pipe 3 inches behind the 2nd cat.

But I thought the second cat was in the s-pipe? How would you install the after market s-pipe then if the midpipe need to be cut? That wouldnt that mean part of the stock midpipe would have to be retained?

It goes Exhaust manifold > Cat >Down pipe > Cat > Mid pipe > axle flange > Muffler

erm yeah... like he said. the second cat is pretty small. i didnt even noticed it was there. They just cut that piece and put it on the magnaflow exhaust. spipe doesnt have cat. its just a pipe shape like an S lol.

so the 2nd cat is right AFTER the spipe. where the midpipe starts...

one thing I would like to know, is all the actual piping of the magnaflow exhaust 304 series SS? Or do they use a cheaper grade for the piping. Reason I ask is because I have a magnaflow exhaust on my other car (v6 accord) that is about 2 years old, and there is noticeable surface rust on what once was shiney SS piping. The mufflers themselves are fine, and I know for sure they are a high grade stainless. But I have a bad feeling the piping is 409...... can anyone who knows chime in?

I love the sound of my Magnaflow. It's grumbly and quiet enough while cruising but can come alive at at anytime with a generous press of the throttle. Great exhaust

the precision muffler system is a different magnaflow muffler and something he makes himself in his shop. the magnaflow system is made by magnaflow.

A few months back I ordered mine from E-Bay for around $380 what you have to watch is some of the ridiculous shipping rates.

I don't live in Cal but I can tell you that it is because it retains your cat. You cut your mid-pipe right after the cat and install the magnaflow after it.

I have the same magnaflow and have nothing but good things to say, my brother got his from ebay but I wanted a valid warranty(I have had problems with ebay sellers before) so I got it here. magnaflow 16478, or you can try one of the vendors here on the forum selling magnaflow, they are allways having sales/specials on the forums. It is nicely built and sounds great I think.
