that it would create more problems because it would produce a Emissions code that would be hard to get rid of.

Does manifold have O2-sensor port before catalytic?
Have link to this manifold?

As long as you've got upstream O2-sensor before catalytic and downstream O2-sensor after catalytic, it should work just like stock. ECU won't know anything's different.
