rumors of a camry tranny fitting, dont quote me on it but i believe it was being researched, which means longer gears and higher top speed

top speed will still be limited by the limiter

maybe if you remove it

i thought top speed on our car was limited by our fuel cut at top rpm top gear, in that case, wouldn't it yield a higher top speed?

shipping would be about 150, im not so sure about the camry engine fitting the tc, im gonna do some more research on it though and as soon as i find out i will let you guys know, as for the 6 spd, thats gonna be a killer on the price somewhere around 6k, and longer gears isnt really all gains, that means we will lose our torque curve that we have because of the short gears in the tc, if you get longer gears you wont have so much torque

Can a couple of you guys brainstorm on the total price of that engine swap? That sounds like it could be a more reliable option than turbo.

It would cost more than the car itself.

You're talking about a lot of custom fabrication, not to mention that there's a lot more to an engine swap than just the engine.

i like that idea + turbo = me happy beating everything that moves on the street,
You would get torque steer so bad that you'd put yourself into a wall or oncoming traffic, assuming you even get traction.

Not to mention that you'll have such an unbalanced car that taking any turn at speed would be an ___-clenching experience.

yes i know there is more to the engine swap than a motor, you gotta get your electrical in and the mounts, tranny+axles , but i think it could be done, you just have to look at an actual 06 v6 camry engine bay and use that for your fabbing, i think the motor mounts are the same points onto the frame though, but i could be wrong

hmm, if you were just interested in the camry gains, why not get a camry? haha....seems like too much money to be swappin over successfully....i mean unless you have unlimited funds!

i mean if u even think bout puttin a camry engine in a tc why not a better engine... w/ the whole cost of it, might as well try to put a better performance engine.

truthfully im just waitin for someone to try to put ona 3sgte or something small first.
