Default Megan Header Owners Only

I am looking to buy headers very soon, as in this monday.. but i just have some questions.

To those who have it i hav a few questions.. if you can answer them taht would be great..

1) Is it able to mount to the stock bracket near the s-pipe?
2) Have you tried the anti fouler, or o2 sensor CEL eliminator?
3) If "yes" to #2.. did it work, and for how long have you gone without a CEL?

thats all.. thank you

and yes, i searched.. but couldnt find anything that answered "these" questions.

my friend has megan headers on his tC.. and to answer your questions:

1) yes, it's able to mount to the stock bracket.. i know this cuz i installed the headers for him.

2) i did Kaeon's antifouler trick and it worked perfectly.. he's been running the headers for 800+ miles now.

and.. there's cracks forming on his header.. i don't know why. but he called up megan and he's sending him another set of headers. and he has the latest version megan headers as well. so be aware of that.. he has to check everyday for further cracking and leaks.

I have had the Megan header for 10K miles and it does use the stock mounting brackets near the S-pipe and I did the anti-fouler and have been CEL free for the past 10K miles. Also, the Draxas full exhaust sounds pretty good with the Megan header in case you were looking for an exhaust system as well. PM me if you have any other questions.

Why does everyone feel the need to bash others on their grammar, is this not an automobile forum for the Scion tC, or is this the Grammar Jamboree forum?

1.) yes, make sure you tight them real good because mine came off. you wouldnt be able to use the same bolts so i quick run to home depot for some lock washers/washers/nuts/bolts should do the trick.

2.) yes, i wouldnt waste the money on o2 sim but instead you can buy the the non-fouler at pepboys or autozone. the brand name is "HELP!" and its called spark plug non-fouler. theres 2 thats available 1 short and the other long tap. i used combination of long tap to mount first then the short tap for the 02 sensor.
* drill the short tap enough for the sensor to screw all the way in. leave the long tap alone.

* do not mount 3 foulers because u will get a CEL telling you its low flow.

* in the end its trial and error.

3.) i have a log book of all the things that happen to my car. too much to write but so far with the combo that i did its been trouble free for 2+ months. i do have my own OBD2 scanner so its not too much of a hassle.

good luck

Actually, that's exactly what I did and it worked fine. I used 2 of the HELP! antifouls, whichever of 42009 or 42002 is the LONG ones, and sandwiched one of the SHORT ones in between. 100 miles so far, no CEL.

I have the header and full exhust. It did mount to the stock s-pipe but you have to use the original donut gasket and it is a tight fit on the new pipe.

I did the antifouler trick and have over 3000 miles with no CEL.

and I feel the pain of the name. It is a header (1) not 2. it drives me nuts evertime I hear the word "HEADERS" on a single manifold engine. It makes you sound like you don't know what your talking about.

so does anyone know what kind of exhaust to get to prevent raspiness. I just finished reading someone say that they have the complete megan set up (header-back) and said that it sounds horrible. to be specific he said it sounded "like a killer bee." Im trying to get an exhaust but now im stumped as to which one to get.......any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The only reason his sounds like that is because his gaskets and rough pipe componants havent smoothed over yet. mine was that way for a good time but no has just a little rasp and a very deep tone to it.

The only you will avoid all rasp is to keep your restrictions (cat, resonators, ____ty pipe). rasp is an inline four thing that if you run full exhaust with little restriction you will have it however once your exhuast is fully broken in it will become less noticable.
