Default More power.

Okay heres my situation I dont want to go to turbo yet but i have Hks pipe, weapon r cai, dc race header, lighter pulley and thats all. What can i get for more power i was thinkin higher comp. JE pistons? Anyone how that would do. Also maybe the uni chip ive seen for like 800$ that adds 25-30 h.p. So if anyone knows anything about these or anything else for more power please help thanks.

Yeah a good tune with a EMS would do it.
the high comp pistons and port N polished head would too.
BUT if you plan on turbo i'd skip the high comp pistons, go for the head work and the EMS tune.

OR....N....2....O

Before adding more power you should research a little more. It wouldnt make sense getting Higher comp pistons if you plan to turbo later. If you just want a little more power, than get a crank pully, finish the cat back, get an s-pipe, all that can be done pretty cheap and over a weekend.

If you want, get the head P&P, 75 shot nitrous, and get the car tuned with an emanage. With all those mods i dont see why you cant hit low 14's, high 13's in the 1/4.

You should be putting down around 220 WHP

You sound like you have the same aspirations I do.
More Power, 200+ whp w/o F/I.

I'm CAI'd right now, pulley and headers coming up.

I was actually doing minor calcs for getting to 200+ whp and I was wondering the same thing.

After the bolt ons, how do you gain more hp w/o forced induction?

whith full bolt ons Intake/header/full exhaust plus pulley you will prob be at 160whp if that...

the only way to get to 200hp N/A (no nitrous /F/I) would be headwork (port/polish)and a EMS tune. even then you would prob be at around 180hp.

now with some thing like ZPI's stage 2 head kit PLUS a EMS/AFC tune you may be looking at 200hp N/A...

EMS = Engine Management System?
AFC = ???

Thanks for info. I'm assuming a head kit is a lot of work for a bit of $?

if you haven't already, do the car's suspension. you won't add any power, but the improved cornering and handling are very satisfying.

i'm kinda in the same boat as you are, i want to go turbo, i have most of the bolt ons, but there isn't anything more i can do until i actually have a kit installed.

i might do some audio work to entertain me until i get my turbo kit.

yeah im constantly saving for a turbo but then i get to like 500 dollars and blow it on something else. ugh. I suck with money. 2200 for stage 0 zpi isn't that much but I can never seem to make it there.

you Have to find out are you going to go turbo or not, because if you turbo you want to lower your comp, if you want all engine you want to higher it.

well depends on how much boost you wanna run...up to 9psi i think the stock 9.1:1 STOCK pistons are fine, NOW those with 07's eh... your on your own,

the ZPI head kits are as follow...
this is for just port N polish, you can prob get this done local cheaper.
http://www.zeropointindustries.net/s...products_id=29
this is the 2nd kit and includes the following...
http://www.zeropointindustries.net/s...roducts_id=187

You will still need EMS/AFC thought...

actually going higher compression with a turbo is actually better, of course you need stronger rods, valves and springs. lowering compression just makes it easier to to run a higher psi and lower octane (for those in cali or anwhere else with 91). as you know power is made from pistons transfering energy to the crank blah blah blah. what im trying to say is lowering compression is does not always net you the most hp.

Look into the new aem piggyback its priced really nice. Beats paying 2000 for a full standalone. Get the s-pipe and tune it until u go boost.

valves
valve springs
cams and work to the head of the motor possibly...
basically build the motor to withstand boost
