Motor Mounts...
How hard are these to install...Im hearing a squeaking noise coming from the engine whenever I go over bumps or surfaces that aren't smooth. Its not my struts because I just put new struts and springs on the car all around. Its also not the sway bar links or any of the suspension components. Is this a easy job you can do yourself or is it something that I probably need to take it somewhere to have the work done??
I've only done the front lower motor mount(I have the Speed Source front mount and rear bushing set). Not hard at all, just remove the splash guard(I only removed the driver's side to access the plate that's the front center jack point, remove those two bolts and then you'll see two openings for the mount bracket bolts. First remove the single bolt that goes through the bushing, then remove the two bolts that go into the bracket. Before installing the new mount(doesnt apply if you are doing Energy Suspension mount inserts) thread the two bolts into the bracket by hand, this will clean the threads and easier when you have the mount in place to install. I had to take the mount off and do this because the threads would catch after a few turns, after the install went smooth. Torque specs can be found around on forums, then put the plate back on for the front center jack point and the splash guard, clean up the work area and enjoy getting that power to the ground better than before.

Hey guys thanks, it was actually a false alarm on the motor mounts. I was in the car today and hear it and found out its something with my aftermarket Alpine headunit that I installed this summer. Its a single din unit, and I was able to push up on the bottom of it in the empty din storage slot and the noise stopped. Thank God it wasn't the motor mounts....
After market motor mounts are a pretty sweet mod in my book though! I would still consider upgrading, well that's if you want better performance. You basically need to lower the sub frame assembly and support the trans and engine with a couple jacks and wood blocks to get access to all mounts sounds a bit more intimidating then it actually is. Then it's pressing the old bushings out I believe on both the trans mount and rear you need to cut out a metal retainer via electric saw or hand saw then press the new ones in.
Glad you narrowed down your worries though!
