So after blowing my motor, I've been trying to find myself a new one and I finally found a fairly priced one close to me.
Only thing is..will an 2007 tC motor bolt up and PnP right up to my 2008 tC?
I thought I heard there were some changes but I can't exactly rememeber.

there is some slight differences, I remember reading that as well but I doubt they will effect the installation.

Late 07 and up have the same motor. The 05-06 version didn't have oil squirters.

 

isnt there a cam difference too? but that wont affect install

 

I heard about the oil squirters and the cam difference..but neither would affect install.
I'm just looking for any reason that would not allow me to install an 07 motor.

 

sensors? ecu? but 07+ should be the same, its 05-06 thats different. the real question is, does anyone know if ill have trouble dropping a 08 motor in my 05?

you should take this opportunity to do some crazy awesome motor swap. at least, that is what i would do.

 

what did they quote you on a motor? im going by the yard tomorrow and i can get you a quote on your year motor, may be cheaper and wont have problems

 

Well I found two of them.
One is 13 miles from my house..it's a 2007 M/T with 8320 miles on it, for $1,500, and one that's 49 miles from my house..it's a 2009, no idea on the transmission yet, with 15,000 miles on it, for $1,335.

damn, i wish tc motors were that cheap out here in hawaii, the cheapest one i found was 2600

 

Simple answer: No. I am doing this. 09 block in my 06 tc. everything will fit back on i am even reusing my maf from the 06 for the turbo kit

 

Fitment isn't an issue, the ECU will just make corrections for the different combustion because of the higher compression. No biggie.
