MT-90 ftw...
I had the gasket problem happen to me too. Only on the drain plug though. I re-tightened it without putting the gasket back on. As of right now, it's still off. What will happen if it's not back on there? I just did the swap about 2 days ago and have driven the car about 100 miles thus far.
I found mine dripping without the gasket. Maybe yours may or may not drip, but gaskets are good things in my book. You won't lose too much if you're ready to replace the plug after putting the gasket on. Keep the fill plugged up while you do the reinstall and then refill and you should be good.
Again, yours may be fine without the gasket, but mine dripped without it.

Thanks for the heads up. Next chance I get I'll plug the drain up and throw that gasket back on. I'll have to check for leaks too. My worst fear is the bolt vibrating out while I drive and then losing all the oil...haha.
Change like motor oil - drain then fill.
I'm not sure how long you can go without changing it (without detriment to your car), but I change my engine oil (mobil 1 full synthetic) at 4k or less. There's a thread over in maintenance that covers this subject.
