Default N/A Tuning Project //DONE FOR

Well guys, this is my new little project to see what can I take out of my current mods and some more. I will be tuning shortly (read: in a month or a month and a half :D) my car to see what we can extract from this motor without doing a Port and Polish on the head. Here are some of my new mods soon to be installed in my car. Others are already there, but just for a little research. I'm expecting with these simple setup at least 15-20whp. What do you think?

E-Manage Ultimate w/ Boomslang Plug and Play Harness

AEM Wideband Installed

Megan Oil Pressure and EGT Gauges
Installed

Better Flowing Air Filter Cone for my CAI / My Old one is very dirty and I opted to change it. This one has a better design that the old one.

Other Items:
Creative Compacts 3Gauge A-Pillar Pod Installed
Scion tC Lower Temp (160F) Thermostat- Installed
Samco Coolant Hoses- Installed
Speed-Source Shifter Bushing Kit- Installed
Insulation Wrap: For the Intake, to prevent Heat Soak. :D

i was thinking about installing nst pulley...
great if we can get some actual numbers
(not trying to bash nst's integrity, had to say that )

ur exhaust setup = no cats? (how's the sound with borla? kills the raSP?)

Care to give a total price you spent, including tuning?

Well, I have spent in power mods around: ~$1300. I got the e-manage Ultimate for $400, so that helped me a lot. Other things, under MSRP also. I keep reasearching the lowest price on whatever I'm buying. No cats, and yes my Borla setup does kills a lot of the rasp, also I have a 32" Magnaflow Resonator, so that helps a lot too. I'm not a fan of Rasp. :D Whe I do a baseline with the NST pulley, I will let u guys know how it goes.

You'll probably get your 15-20whp! 10-15 wouldnt be bad either. Good luck man! Your results will surely help me in my quest for n/a power.

I hope so, thanks. I will be using 93octane GAS to go against detonation and also in the help of retard ignition timing. Let's see how this go. I'm actually looking on a reputable tuner around here. But in this island, even good tuners are about 2-3 hours away from me. So I'm trying to find a good one locally.

no it wasnt that bad.. the biggest thing is removing the timing chain and making sure you put it back in the exact same tooth line up as before.. but if you mark it with a sharpie your fine. actually.. ill be doing even better when UPS comes to my house and drops off my new top secret header hehe.. im gonna try to push for 170+hp. maybe 180.

but i would love to see what you can do with the emanage on a stock ecu and basic boltons..

you should also check out the echo forums.. there is alot of good info there that is not posted here because this place is infested with rice boys who are all show and no go..

ill be doing a toyota echo ecu swap soon and tuning the slower 16 bit ecu with less learning ability vs. our 64bit super fast learning ecu. But i think since u hae the emanage ult. you should be able to overcome the stock ecu's constant fighting to control the car. i will keep u informed on my stuff and ill be watching urs lol..

Just use the Dezod EMS for Partial Throttle Tuning, and u will be out of the ECU's control. That's better than using and Echo ECU, which by the way, I doubt it will work on our motors. Since I believe an ECU for the 1NZ will not have the same parameters as the 2AZ ECU. You can't just start to plug (which the plugs will also be different) another ECU into our harness and believe our motors will function accordingly.

Also do you have a wideband, so I can see how the port and pilish will affect the AFRs on the stock ECU. Since it would be running leaner I think.
