Default need help! like right now..

ok.. so i installed a megan header like.. i dunno.. 20k ago.. after maybe 2k i decided it wasnt for me and i took it out.. it gave me a CEL code when i had it in.,.. when i put my stock header back in it the CEL was still on, but i gave it no mind..

now i need to get my inspection done and the CEL is stopping me from passing.. someone told me to "reset the battery" because the CEL could be coming from my old megan headers.. figuring this wouldnt do any harm i did it..

after disconnecting my battery for 15 minutes, when i turn the car back on, the RPM drops below 500k and then eventually stalls out..

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? HOW CAN I FIX IT!? (yes i know hte rules, and yes i am yelling at this point..)

please help asap.. im stuck here now

Just need to ask did you move over the gasket or replace them?

I had this same problem... You have to give it a moment, when you see the RPM start to fall, give it some gas, to keep it from stalling. The ECU needs some to relearn.

You should only have to do this once when you start the car after reseting the ECU. It should be fine after that.

Let us know what the outcome is.

yup its gonna stall out wat you do is give the ecu time to relearn.. take it out to the freeway and drive it hard!!!! or you can just cruise around. turn off the car. start it back up and it should be fine.

same thing happend to me when i installed my fogs, when i started it up, it was fine when i got to the stop sign drop it to neutral and saw the rpms drop from 2000 to 300 rpms and felt like it was about to stall so i kept on revving it to 1000 while i was stopped, at every single stop sign i had to rev it to 1000 for it not to die on me, and people beside me probably was thinkin i was tryin to race them....so i was really scared since it was the first time happening to me....so...i parked and basically died on me...i let it sit while i was thinking and then turned it on again, reved it and made it stay at 1000 then bumpped to 2000 then let go..dropped to 300 but picked up and stayed at 600...then i let it idle and it stayed at normal750-800...try that..
