OBX riser plate & new engine sound

Haha... any attempts to NOT be an a-hole should be appreciated.
As far as the almighty goes, I don't think he cares what you drive. He's got some real problems to sort out... genocide, famine, crazy new-age movements that reject him, etc.

Well,
God is in the process of sorting it out already. He has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to show any who would come to Him the Way. When Christ comes again, all of the issues mentioned above will be remedied.
Not that it matters much, but the new mileage with the OBX
Throttle Body Spacer is giving me about 30 MPG without 0-60 runs, still running about 70%/30% City/Highway. It still makes the noise, but it doesn't bother me anymore. The car stops just fine, and accelerates fine.

I was convicted by God's word (the Bible) Romans 13 to obey the speed limit. So, a turbo is sort of out of the question ;)
Hybrids are nice, but they are expensive. A guy that I know at work bought one. It is OK for city driving, but Highway driving is not so good. Also, he has had to have his batteries replaced three times under warranty (>30,000 miles on the car). After the warranty is up, it is about $5,000 every time to replace the batteries. So, it is not as efficient as they lead you to believe...
My most recent gas mileage (the Out of Gas light came on ) is 31.5! I am still shooting for higher.
I am also trying a new (?) trick. The person that sold me the car showed me that you can shift the car without using the clutch if you sync the motor speed with the wheel speed. I am shifting 2nd-4th gears now without a clutch. 5th tries to grind , so I am still using the clutch for that one.
My left leg is liking it a lot I think the clutch is as well LOL

Yes!
It's a lot of fun.
To do it, rev up first gear to about 2500 RPM, and let off the gas. Pull the shifter out of 1st, and gently nudge it into 2nd around 2000 RPM (I think - I am working out the RPM tables in my head). It will just pop into place, no clutch needed. As long as the RPM is consistent with where the MPH would be for that gear, it should just pop into place in ANY gear. The Synchros do the work for you. Saves on clutch wear and legwork. I am still practicing it. I only tend to grind when shifting into 5th, so I use the clutch for that, and starting in 1st.
Give it a shot in a parking lot.
You need to coordinate it with RPM, so you can't go through the gears as fast. But, for MPG and clutchwear (or if your leg gets tired), it will work.

ROFL!
I'd bike to work if I could. However, 20 miles of it is highway (crawling, mind you, but highway nonetheless). I do like to drive, but at $3.50+ a gallon, I can think of a LOT of other thing to do with the money.
Motorcycles/scooters are not an "if you lay it down" but "WHEN you lay it down" issue. My boss died in a motorcycle accident. I have seen what can happen to people in motorcycle wrecks. The auto drivers out my way aren't very kind to people driving on two wheels.
2 Gallons a day @ $3.50 a Gallon = $2555 a year alone (yes, I drive every day...). What could you do with an extra $2555 a year? Plus, save on the car Pmt, etc. The Aveo idea is OK, except that some of the on ramps on I376 are VERY short, hence the need for something with a little more get up and go than the Aveo.
Besides, there is the scientific fun factor in getting a performance oriented car to get REALLY good gas mileage.
Just a thought...

Man, *** the worrying, *** the math, *** the penny planning.
Get in the car,pay for the fuking gas, and do what you gotta do.
