Oil leak? Oil light Help.... Anti freeze? not fuild OUCH!!!
So im driving around and I start to hear a tick that comming from the timing chain side of my motor as well as i put 3 quarts of oil in my car last night and now its all GONE my oil light comes on then goes off. I hear a rattle and im scared my engine is going to blow again and i pulled out my oil dip stick and there is smoke comming out of it as well as i can not find a leak anywhere for the life of me. The only thing i can think of is to drop the oil pan and reseal it.
My other problem is that there is a antifreeze line that goes into the therostat there is antifreeze that just sits and leaks so would that be a gasket problem?

Right do you think i should just drop the pan and reseal it?

What I am getting at is that you keep saying you want to reseal everything, but you have no leak that you can mention. What good is resealing the oil pan going to do if there is no leak?
If the oil is low, the valvetrain and the timing chain will make a lot of noise to start, after that it will be the destroyed bottom end that is ticking and knocking. You need to stop driving it immediately until you find out what is going on.
IF you lost 3 qts of oil right away and there is not oil all over something, including the ground, and the car is not smoking like a freight train.. then you are putting the oil in the wrong place. Like we have said, 3 qts doesnt just go away on its own. Did you check the oil after you added the 3 qts?

Dude if you have loose metal, that means something broke and something is really wrong. You need to take it somewhere. It is not good to have metal in your engine, your engine will be gone very soon. You seriously cannot believe that is okay to have that in your engine and think it is a simple fix to stop a clicking noise.

Well, you have been driving it without oil in it.. if there is a good amount of metal particles in the pan then chances are you have toasted the bearings. Motor most likely needs to be rebuilt if that is the case, and if you keep driving it, you will have a nice 2.4L paperweight.
