I read on here in the sticky about exhaust power gains that the stock exhaust gives around 5 hp gain when taken off.... but i noticed that its pretty big too...the whole box itself... would it be wise....to lets say..( i have a welder btw im not doing it myself ) i take it off... and custom a pipe from there to where my stock exhaust exits.... using the stock little tip so i dont lose the quality look of the car .. but still make HP and get a better sound and does anyone have a clip or something of no exhaust, i couldnt find one. thanks.

 

and if i did do that what custom piping should i use....stock size? or 2.25?

Funny... that was a serious question though, if i cut there wouldnt that destroy the purpose of even cutting it? i just want to keep it stock looking cuz the parentals.. I pay for my car but my parents still govern that i can do to it , so as for the intake im going to install the injen one thats black so they cant tell its not stock.

 

Actually, I think that it can be done, but you would have to measure the tip diameter to see if it will be beneficial to do so. IMO. Also I think that without the Big Black Box on the OEM intake it will not look OEM.

Many exhaust tips for the tC are low-key... borla looks pretty stock, as do TRD and the lesser-known systems. If you look into creative compacts and dezod, and others you may find that there are some very stock-looking setups. Run some searches and you'll get some good ideas.
