WEll there is alot of info on pulleys. I have a brothers and i cant shutup about this but my mileage is dieing. Well anyway i have a question and i thought this would be the best thread to post it on.

This is actually a nube question but it hasnt been talked about enough atleast to me. Well i was wondeirng does getting more WHP improve our MPH-RPM ratio? For example if i get a S/C Will the increase in whp lower the cruising RPM of say 75mph? Or does that require Ecu tuning, gear ratios? I wanna ask this becuz wenever i cruise down the highway at say 70-80 mph (if i can remember) itz around 4k rpm? all i know is it sucks crusing at that high of rev, any higher and itz just gas burning and bad sounding. Plus we dont have a 6th gear =(.

I dont have any mods but an Intake and the RPMS are always high when cruising.. just how it is. Highway I'm getting like 30 mpg min.. in town is different story. I live super close to everywhere I drive and although a tank lasts me like 2-3 weeks the mileage is actually ____

O yeah City does kill you mPG. But i was also still wondering if any1 knows the answer to my question. If getting more HP will reduce the amount of rpm per MPH.

No, it won't. That's all in the gear ratios.

i have a sp2 axel back i had in on my car for about a month and the sound didnt get any louder. i took it off and drove it with no muffler for the louder sound, should i have kept it on longer? or would the sound have stayed the same?

no muffler is loud but u like that? the sound isnt like controlled. Usually an axleback would change sound from 2 weeks to even 3 months, differs on axlebacks and differs on how much u drive, usually it should be 2 weeks. anyway if you wanted a louder taste why did you even buy the sp2? shouldve bought the evo2, any OEM style axleback would sound a bit low without an a/f midpipe. You should try to keep it on louder, but anyway this thread isnt wher u shuld be asking this.

Lol its cool. But yeah usually the OEM style axlebacks have more muffling efficiency. If you want something louder but like how the sp2 looks, just get an aftermarket midpipe, Going to a muffler shop would probably be best, since there is NO chance of fitment problems because they make it then and there.

Im not a mod, so wtv. lol you should have just made that first post somewhere else. but anyway you have an intake and aftermarket headers AND the sp2 is STILL quiet? wow props to the sp2... Usually headers give alot of rasp.

I guess it just depends on what header you have? Mostly 4-2-1 seem like they have little rasp on our cars. an intake usually has nothing to do with rasp, but you wanted something loud? it should add some sound.

Yeah, I just installed a K&N CAI on mine and it does add a little rasp in the 3k - 5k RPM range.

I'm still debating of which way to go next (Headers or Exhaust).

My initial thought was installing a DC Sports 4-1 header but I'm reading alot of people getting the CEL, even when doing the anti-foulers trick on the S-Pipe. I can say I'm a newb when it comes to performance upgrades, but I read these forums alot and do tons of research before making any decisions.

My ultimate goal is to add about 20-30 WHP to my TC, keeping that in mind any suggestions on the next step?
