FYI everyone.... If your going to do any head work it will require a head gasket kit. This item in a dealer item only and cannot be found at pep boys or auto zone etc.. It costs around 220 and is a special order only item. It take about one to two business days for it to be shipped to the dealer. Make sure you order it before you remove your existing head.

Ok guys.... Its been alittle over a week and i still dont have the head in. I cant find anyone that can do the timing and install the head for a decent price. ($750+) I have a guy now though that is going to time it and im going to be installing it myself. As soon as i get it in ill post up pics. BTW i got my Volks and greddy emange blue. Just ordered performance motor mounts (my engine is rocking nasty!!) Ill hoping to have everything in my next week. Ill keep everyone posted.

Cams are going to have to wait. Too much money was spent on everything and I need to step back and take a breather. LOL Price was 600 and something but they might hook it up....

LOL yeah actually the info i needed was under my hood the whole time!!! Well folks i have great news!!! My new pnp'ed head is installed and ready to run. Im picking it up in aout 2 hrs. Small problem though. My axles are bad and my torque damper is broken ( i think it happened at Irwindale for the longo triatholon) Im going to have to wait to fix them before i can get dyno tested. But ill keep everyone posted.

By the way i have a friend with a intregra... ls vtec motor, chipped, cams, pulleys and i beat him with my tc before the pnp. That for all you out there that say that our cars dont have potential. Im gonna prove everyone wrong!!!!

Intrested in knowing if you got it back up and running and if you got any numbers. I don't remember what shop did this test a while back (I think ZPI) just a P&P head 30whp after tune, P&P head with oversized valves 40whp. Not sure if the test car had i/h/e or what. Let us know.

It was probably boosted with those numbers on gains.

So a 2AZ-FE with only boltons gained 30whp on headwork alone (and tune)? I highly doubt that unless they had some really agressive cams and upped the rev limit a lot. We're talking about 180-190whp NA with pretty much just headwork.

If that's true then that's nothing short of amazing.

Btw - those claims probably came from this thread:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...dyno&&start=20

That's page 2 - and ZPI tells a little more about what they had on the test car...

But they never backed it up with a dyno.. and conveniently had computer issues so they were never able to post those dynos.. :ROFL:

That was direct from Kenny from ZPI over the phone not from the thread. I actually won a head from them in their contest but at the time didn't have the money to have all the work done so opted for the camcon (junk).

Take what people tell you with a grain of salt.

Kenny was selling a product - most people will inflate their numbers and not provide hard evidence.

Did he email you a dyno? Or send you a video?
