power loss with intake

power loss with intake

so i just bought a maf adapter and and a k&n cone filter i bought off a friendput it on and its like when i take off or low rpms i have no power. whats the cause of this?

why did you need an adapter?

If its just a cone filter and not really getting colder air it should gain minimal power but you shouldn't lose power.

a maf adapter the car just cuts off if its not plugged in

What brand of intake did you purchase? Hacking up the stock intake and just throwing a cone filter on... not going to be a good result...

the MAF adaptor comment is scary....

you never seen it...keep the black hose remove the box then its a short piece of intake pipin so you can put your adapter in and then use a hose clamp to hold the cone filter on

Did you disconnect the battery first? You need to do that to let the computer reset and then after re-connecting the battery let the engine run for about 10 minutes.

Most Intakes have a little loss of power in the low rpms... but most when in CAI form... Since it's not something generally available, most of us can't really say what would be causing your problem....

i guess thats what i get lol i didn tsee the point of spending 200+ dollars for an intake im boosting when i return from cruise

Well, a CAI will net you no noticeable gains, and what you built was a SRI or WAI which is drawing hotter air than the stock airbox, so I would expect you may lose some power.
