Default Pro Scan outcome..

Well some people askedme to post the results. The software is off a little bit Im going to try to reduce the refresh rate so it can collect more data. and I have to get the exact weight of my car. That should reduce the numbers a little bit to a more accurate figure.

http://www.kaeon.net/album/albums/us...0001/test1.jpg

http://www.kaeon.net/album/albums/us...0001/test2.jpg

Those were done in 3rd gear with these settings

weight: 3370
drag coef: 0.320
gear drive ratio: 0.020340 (3rd gear)

and my tire specs 215/45/17

I have not had the car weighed yet. I just gave the weight a guess from the door jam weight plus me in it. The drag coef was found from a website so I don't know how correct it is. The drive ratio is from the program guessing the rate by running some tests so I don't know how correct this is either. Hopefully next runs goes down about 8 -10hp tq.

Car has DC Header, Axle back.

Ya that is a little high but remember the way the software works is if you over estimate weight then the numbers will be higher because it will think you are accelerating more weight at the same accleration. I have a g-tech and the higher the weight the higher the HP number but the lower the weight the lower the HP number. Also you can tell it pretty much is on the right track because the max tourque/HP are at about the same RPM numbers as the stock car. Anyways this looks to be about as accurate as my g-tech.

So there you go! If you have no sound system, add your weight to the 2900lbs.

My Apexi RSM was pretty damn accurate. With AW header and a blitz ehxaust it said 152WHP.

That's funny. All horsepower is calculated mathematically. The only thing you can measure directly is torque using either a known load (inertial dyno) or a brake (eddy current, water, hydraulic).

If your goal is to compare with other people using different devices, it's not going to be very good for a lot of reasons, but if your plan is to use it to measure changes you've made to your car, they work very well.

this morning i finaly got around to trying out my rsm hp reader thanks to instructions from Joe

in 66 degree weather in a 3rd gear pull i made 154.8 hp that is with no exhaust right now (the injen was melting the bumper after the accident so i have to wait to put it back on) and basicly nothing else power wise done

yeah I know.... I'm a geek

I was down at one of the shipping facilities for our company setting up a bunch of wireless warehouse equipment for a week. So I used one of the scales to see just how much it weighed. It is pretty handy to have a truck scale lying around to use

I'm going to be working on that side of town (savage, MN) again here soon.. so I may try to check out the F/R ratio next time I play with the scale too
