Default Probably a dumb question - Putting the power to the ground

Hello, I know this is going to sound noob-tastic but I already searched and didn't really find the info I'm looking for. Basically I'm wondering what I could do to help lay down power to the ground more effectively. I've got an 07 tC, it's an automatic if that matters. The car is bone stock besides some Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs (I work at a tire distributor and got a deal I couldn't pass up). So far all I could think of would be possibly motor mounts and maybe an LSD. I'm sure you guys can answer this one relatively easily.

Thanks.

The two items you mentioned (motor mounts & LSD) are likely the best, considering you already took care of the tire aspect.

well un fortunately you cannot put LSD in automatic.......sucks cause I though they installed mine when I ordered the car, come to find out 9 months later they owed me a chunk of money casue it does not go in anything but 5 speed.......dealership was embarrased but it was an honest mistake.

So the best thing you can really do is get light weight rims, sticky tires, motor mounts will help some, get a free flowing exhaust like header,2.5 from the header back with good resonators and something for a can like HKS as they flow well.

Get good intake to get cool air in......and that is about it.

It is hard to light up the tires and slip on an auto......I can do it fairly well with just a quick hit to the gas and then let the brake off and fry them pretty good so it is hard to loose traction, stick another story, more control of the motor and gears and easy to loose traction by over powering it.

Is there any reason why I can't put an LSD on an automatic car? Does it have anything to do with the way the car itself is designed? I ran one on my F-Body Camaro and that was an automatic as well, though the biggest difference I can think of is that the Camaro was RWD.

Also, is the jury out on the motor mounts? If the mounts are identical I can't see it being an issue putting them on an automatic car?

Lol. I doubt your spinning your tires cuz your not putting hardly any power to the ground. so the question is pointless. If your constantly breaking traction for some reason with upgraded tires NA, you need to focus on your driving not your car.

I'm not breaking traction, never said I was. My driving is fine, I was just asking a question about doing something more efficiently. These cars are too slow for you to really have much fun driving them so it's not like I'm driving the car hard at all.

If no one is selling mounts for automatics, and if they're actually different than in the 5spd, a person could always do the DIY upgrade on their stock mounts, using the urethane in a tube method that's been shown in threads on this site & many others.

mounts may be the best. and since u cant go with an LSD jus add a torque damper too.

Thendawg - I take it they actually fit then and I should be able to use the ones from ES without any problems? were there any modifications done to have them fit on your car or was it pretty straight forward?

Rosedaleny806 - I'll look into a torque dampner but I understand from what I've read on here a lot of people who have had them didn't like them. Also, an edge kid from Queens who listens to Have Heart? We might be the same person.

yeah it depends, the ETD by itself is such a waste but when mixed with the ES motor mounts it works well together IMO. jus make sure u get the mounts first such a good bang for ur buck (55-60 shipped)

haha ur into hardcore too? where in NY u from?

what exactly does the valve upgrade do to gain power that is otherwise lost in the auto transy?

you got a link to one of these?
