Problem with intake manufacturers, be warned
My first post...here goes.
Iv been looking at the different cold air intakes available for the tc, when i noticed something different in many of the images. A bracket is placed differently on some pipes. Not thinking anything of it i ordered an AEM intake.
After spending an hour trying to figure out why my car was stalling out directly after startup, and triple checking for any leaks around the MAS (Mass Airflow Sensor). I figured out the problem. Some of the pipes are being built wrong from the manufacturer. They said they are aware of some batches being faulty and are trying to fix the problem.
The bracket for installing the MAS is welded in the wrong way.
when standing at the front of your car looking into the engine the cut corner would be on the top right
Wrong Way
the cut corner should be located on the bottom left

Correct / this image is a little hard to see, i just took the first 2 i saw.
as im sure most of you know when the MAS is turned 180 degrees, it doesnt read the air correctly...freaks out and shuts the car off to protect the engine.
Just given ya a heads up, if your currently in the market for an intake.

Actually, I think I read something earlier today about someone who had put in an intake and was having problems with stalling right after installation. Not sure if it was an AEM or not though. Thanks for the info.
