well, that may be true as for now. It's still up in the air as to the possible situations that may occur.
Lets say Toyota designed the 2AZ to last up to 100K miles. The pulley may shorten the life by 1K mile, 3K mile....... nobody knows yet. But as of now, things are still ok.
Depends on who is driving it
yes, thats definately another factor. A while back I asked if the folks updating would also give a brief description on how the car driven.

It is my belief that Toyota didn't have a mileage figure in mind when they designed the engine. It is afterall a Camry motor. That being said it was never made to be a high performance engine, but what small car engine in mass production for cars under 20K are? I'm not going to go off on a tangent here about engine design and purpose but time will tell whether or not the aftermarket crank pulleys being put on the TC have any real part to play in the life of the engine.

And, for example, forced air induction has been the cause of many an engine failure but we still seem to be turbocharging and supercharging engines all the time.

thats true! I also dont want to go off on a tangent, but I wuold think the folks that decide to go F/I would be financially alright to be able to get another motor if things go bad whereas pulley owners may not.

ANyhow, almost 1K miles w/ AP pulley on 07. Everything fine and dandy. I have been mashing the gas pedal more recently b/c of the colder weather.

the 2azfe is a work horse motor, my cousin had one in his pick up truck and that thing took a hell of a beating ( off roading ) and still ran strong after 160 k when he sold it.

~23K on the pulley and nothing. Installed my Tanabe NF210s Saturday and thought I would take a look to check for any leaks or cracks.......no oil leaks, no cracked oil seal, no deformation of the pulley. All is good

Anodized ZPI would be good....stronger and same weight. Both free up excess "drag" on the crank......they don't "produce" power though. The just free up drag which CAN help the engine work more efficiently.

I think NST is still a slight decrease in size compared to ZPI....not 100% sure though. NST will be a hair lighter if it is a little smaller....honestly, nothing that will be anything noticeable.

Yeah, it's a 20% reduction compared to the stock pulley.

If it is truely the stock size, then either or will be fine (same weight... ~1.1 lbs).....but, check Non Stop Tuning's site....there's no "stock" size pulley....it's only a 20% underdrive pulley and requires a different belt.

http://www.nonstoptuning.com/pKitToySciTC.htm

The picture on the site you have is the same one as on the NST site itself......I would double check to make sure it truley is the stock size pulley.
