Default Quafie install questions

how hard is it to insatll one of theses on the 06 cars also i there a diy or a step by step directions to doing it?

ik they r not bolt on
dont you have to set pre load and set backlash?

everything should be set and ready to just change out.

the biggest pain will mostly be cracking the tranny open.. if you have experiences in doing that.. then it's just more a time consuming process. it took me a week.. but that's because i was working really slow... with lots of breaks.. lol.

Generally speaking the preload should be within spec, that being said its definitely something worth verifying. Ideally if you can measure the distance from the outer face of the small diameter bearing to the outer face of the big diameter bearing after theyre pressed into the new diff and you compare that measurement to the stock diff and theyre within .3mm of each other you should be set. If you have the means to directly measure the preload however thats the best method. Only truly difficult part is the pulling of the 5th gear assembly and making sure not to damage the synchro hub beneath it. Also while youre in there you may want to think about lengthening your 5th gear out to the camrys .731 ratio (should be around $200 for the 2 replacement gears).
