Hi all im planning on powercoating my metal valvecover, and wanted to know if i can re-use the gasket that the valve covers has....and i know my friends mr2 used some rtv around the cam shaft and distributor to make a perfect seal....anything like that for us ?

 

yea, you should reuse it it's a rubber gasket that has no real stress acted upon it.

 

OR you can play it safe with a brand new rubber gasket but i used hte old one.

yeah I used my old one, jus gotta becareful not to tear the gasket or anything like that.

 

i bought a new one to save some hassle but when I removed it the oem one is still pretty good so yeah you can reuse but wont hurt to have a spare one
