Real HP gains from a cat back on a tc??
Sorry to hear about the filter man. At least you have a gift card to use to get it.
I am not even going to worry about doing the plug as I will be completely replacing that pipe when I do mine. I pretty much plan on just going straight to stage III if you will.

since i couldn't find any DIY so i don't know exactly what pipe and size i should get. so im just going along as i figure it out. i was like well eh... 50 cent to remove the resonator... might as well start with taht.
u people are still aguring over how much power you get from a catback, everyone is goona have mixed opions about this.........some will say it doesnt give anything others say it gives 1hp others say 5.........until i see a decent dyno with just a exhaust on it either 5 spped or auto then i see all talk..........is bolt ons a waste of money..no....its nice ti have turbo with all that money to spent on bolt ons but hey i would like my engine to last a little bit longer,if im going to get boost im getting a evo..but any how i just dont see the point of these threads..
This is what you need to read. There is also a whole thread discussing this project that he wrote up that I read but have not been able to put my finger on at the moment. At the bottom of the page are links to all the parts you would need minus the actual filter.

Other than that, I can't comment on your post as I can't even make sense of most of it.
I am guessing that you are saying that sure it would be nice to have a turbo instead of spending the money on bolt ons. But keep in mind that if you are running a turbo set up, you still need all those bolt ons, and then some.
I will agree, that if I wanted to go turbo I would have started with a different car. I can't say it would be an Evo mind you since I am somewhat partial to Suby's but I can fully understand your point.

Mitsu's really don't have a good maint. record which is why I went with a suby to start with back then. Not knocking them mind you as I woul still drive the hell out of one but I would still take an 06 STI over an EVO of any year!

mod-bug if u are going to do that let me know, i wanna swing by and check out how you do it.
maybe i'll order the parts too and do it together too.
i dunno if this is a "dumb" suggestion u probably know already but how like if u connect it directly to ur front fog fents, if u drive on the high way, after like a month ur tube is going to be clogged up with rocks.
i found this little mod on from the civic forums, i think it's doable with the tC's as well.

I was pretty much planning on doing something like that. But then again, our filter will be much higher up. I may just use a small piece of grill material around the back side of the duct area and just use the hose clamp that is hold the the new duct in place secure it all. I have an idea in my head but will have to have it all in my hands before I can really determine how I am going to do it. I don't think I will be be going as far as he did witht he bondo and what not though.
if i try it i think im just gonna replace the pipes and the filter.. that's it.
i read it somewhere about there's a "carbon filter" on the top above the stock filter. I removed the stock filter to check that out and i DID see that. How do we remove that? it looks GLUED to it

I don't think you read this thread before you posted. No one is arguing. I simply wanted to know if anyone had some actual numbers from a dyno to support any claimed numbers. That was it. Plain and simple.

i read though this whole thread.......your threads states Real HP gains from a catback on a tc,now thats goona make people argue on rather or not it adds power or just down or what ever the case,1 hp to 5 hp,ive seen plenty of these threads, all of saying,is yes,you will see gains, how much cant say,ive seen the agency power exhaust on a auto tc make 10 whp is it true i dont know...but i read through the whole thread before making a post,
Break it! They don't check that stuff on our cars unless you are getting inspected (which I believe you still need to have done!) so wait until you get inspected and rip that thing out of there! That is my plan anyway!
No worries My06tc. I'm not going to lie, I really do struggle with the idea of paying that much for so little return. But knowing me, with in the next year the damn car will probably have an exhaust on it. It just is not at the top of my priority list at the moment.
iv'e been in both subies and evo's,not to thread jack this person's thread or anything, but evo's feel much more sporty to me then subies and have more power potential and much more friendly to mods then subies, but both cars are very good....
i like the 05 evos,i would take a sti give or take if i couldn;t find a evo...
Agreed, I dindn't like the evoX but one of the cops that parks next to me in the garage here at work has one. Charcoal color with black window tint and black 18" Advan's (looks sort of like the CE27's). Just wicked looking. I would drive hers in a heart beat!
its all good, rather its worth it or not,you have to experience it rather then going what others say....thats what i tell people,i dont mind spending $$$ on bolt ons then go to turbo, why cause i know i experience what bolt 'ons can do and share it with other tc's owners,,,, just just me
crap a cop as a evox? better watch out who you driving to next time. or decide to take on a random car on the high way.
Her and her husband, both cops that work here on campus had 350z's last year. They were both the track edition. His had alot more done to it. Was that sexy blue color with a full body kit, co's, Nismo exhaust, tint, Injen intake, Works (the fat 5 star ones) in gold with a polished lip. Just BA! Her's was white with dark blue Volks (can't remember the model but was a 6-7 star if you will) w/ polished lip, some sort of exhaust and tint. None the less, they were both quite nice. He now drives a 2010 F150 and she has the 09 EVO X! Now they rag on my because my Suby used to be King of the Parking Garage if you will but now I just have a tC!
