Default Replacing just the midpipe question..

Just wondering if anyone has just replaced the midpipe, instead of getting an axleback. Kinda just looking for the sound, and was wondering how just a midpipe would sound. It would get rid of the resonator, just wondering if anyone has heard how it sounds.

i already had TRD axleback and injen CAI, and added the megan mid. and i must say i'm REEEEALLY not liking it (the sound). way loud and ricey. i loved how the CAI and exhaust combo sounded. so i'm leaning toward putting the stock back on.

not sure if not having an axleback will affect that too much.

I just recently replaced the exhaust on mine (midpipe back) and I can safely say you really need a resonator. Not necessarily the one in the stock midpipe, but at least a resonator.

if you just want sound, get an axel back. why waste money on a mid-pipe if you are only looking for sound?

if you want performace, you need to do header and back, and if you get a quality exhaust, or modify it at a custom shop, it wont be raspy (for the most part)

bolt ons are just noise and you lose low end and gain little to no high end. our car only redlines at 6.2? imo just get a catback if u want noise.
