Size does matter!! Just got my resonators welded in and the length of the resonators had a lot to do with eliminating the rasp. I got an 18" Magnaflow and a 22" Magnaflow resonator. That's a total of 40" of resonator. Rasp is gone and the resonators didn't change the tone/ volume of the exhaust.

Here's my setup-

DME header > Magnaflow High Flow CAT > 18" Magnaflow resonator > 22" Magnaflow resonator > Tanabe Medallion Touring exhaust.

I hope if I add a downpipe it won't change the sound much.

it shouldn't change that much.. or maybe a little if you get rid of the high flow cat but i think the quality would still be the same

Adding a downpipe doesn't remove the second CAT does it? It replaces the section of exhaust between the header and the second CAT where the second o2 sensor is. Correct me if I am wrong.

nope the first cat is on the header, the second is after the spipe (its on the midpipe) - the order goes:

header --> spipe --> midpipe --> exhaust

Looks like the downpipe is the final piece to the exhaust puzzle.

has anyone considered any power loss due to larger or mulitiple resinators?

There will be some power loss but it’s not much considering what you have gained from adding header/ exhaust. That’s not to say the gains from an exhaust are great but I can live with +/ - a couple horsepower. You may be not seeing the total benefit of having a full exhaust but at least your car doesn’t sound like a rice monster.

and also you need to look at a dyno - more hp down low surely means more then the few extra hp on top

if you look at the dyno graph of before and after ....for every install you do .... if you see that you have more hp through out the band .... it sure makes the car better to drive then if you only get a few extra hp on the top end

True, true. Haven't had my car on the dyno yet but from I noticed not much difference once resonators were in. I'm no high tech computer though. In fact I am actually able to drive my car now and not have to worry about the constant embarrassment that came farting out of my exhaust.

The key is drivability.

Default Ok confused..

Setup

Weapon R header w/Spipe/ Stock midpipe/ tsudo exhaust....

I got it installed sunday and I love the way it sounds when idle deep very throaty... now higher RPMS it sounds like a ____ed off bee.
Iwent to the muffler shop today to get an extra resonator installed on the midpipe but he said there is no room.

So how can some of you get multiple resonators installed with the stock midpipe?

What are suggestions. and links to websites so I can make some purchase about quieting my setup...

Its really annoying.

when i had the stock exhaust it was quiet... I guess thats the only solution.

well - i dont know if you have the money but redoing your midpipe at this time would be good for ya. It wont cost much for the midpipe. Just depends if you put a cat back on. The resonator should only be around $40-60 and labor isnt much for a good shop. I had my local muffler shop put my second resonator on within 45min total. I think my second resonator is only 12 or 14" - and my initial one was 18"

OK so should i remove to old resonator or buy a new midpipe with the new resonator?
