Default Return of the throttle cable?!?!

SO ahs anyone tryed to get rid of the drive by wire system and put an actual throttle cable on the tc yet. I have seen it done on rx-7s swapping out to an ls1 engine. Also i remember some of the honda guys doing it in the mags. I know the biggest issue would be the throttle body itself, or is there to much computer involvement witht hte drive by system. Does the ecu use throttle values for the vvti or anything like that?

for Honda, I know Skunk 2 makes a cable TB for the TSX. I dont know the details behind it, but it probably could be done if someone makes the right TB.

You cant just put a cable on. The entire throttle system is controlled by the ECU. If you swap out the wire system for a cable the car wont run.

You should take a look at the Nitto tC. Its running a Stand alone MoTec M400 ECU and ditched the drive by wire system. You would have to do some sort of stand alone system for it to work.

Yep, a stand alone system is a must for doing that. I cant see it ever being worth it unless you already had added a stand alone. I personally have little issue with the DBW. I can shift, downshift and rev match just fine. But, some say they have a hard time with it, so for some it may be more important.

2-3g's is alot of money which is what most stand alones will cost you. Unless your doing a full race car there isnt a need for it.
