can i smog my car with an s-pipe on ? i was just wondering.

 

Sure...it doesnt affect any of the emissions componenets..although you wont see much performance without installing a header and exhaust...spend the money on something that will improve the driving experience better like a short shifter or something.

 

I cant imagine how bad it sucks driving in california... the emmissions test here sucks, I cant imagine the CARB stuff too

 

Smogging once in 5 years is no biggie..just an excuse to work on the car to put it back to stock for 1 hour.

In cali, Our first smog test is after 4 or 5 yeas (cant remember exactly) but we get tested every 2 years after that. They are also trying to make it every year. So it still is not that nice here.

 

lol dont you guys get a lot of **** from the cops if you have aftermarket parts too?

 

Trick is to not get **** form the cops at all. They wont look at your parts if you dont give them a reason to look in the 1st place.

 

Once a year here in PA...depending on where you live. Certain counties don't have emissions testing at all.

 

Its so ironic that emissions is so tough in Cali, yet that seems to be where every freakin' aftermarket mod part is made, most of which are not CARB legal.

 

hey.. i have an AW header and K&N intake, and wanted to put the S-pipe on as well. Would I see any substantial gains with the S-pipe/header/intake combo only, or is it not worth it unless you have the exhaust done too?

 

I have Injen CAI, AW header and s-pipe with stock exhaust. I didnt notice much of a difference other than the car seeming to run smoother and more of a flow sound when I start the car up.
