Default Same weapon r intake problem

alright guys i have made a thread about this problem before and thought i fixed the problem but it seems to be back. someone help. well here is the deal i have the weapon r short ram intake. for the passed couple of months actually i have noticed crap for throttle response when i crank up my car. now i kept thinking it was intake problems maybe dirty filter or dirty MAF but cleaned both and still did it. its like everytime i went out to crank my car after it cools down when i go to crank it back up and drive with it it just acts like its a lil sluggish but once i get it going its good to go and doesnt do it again till it cools down. well i did a last min attempt and put my factory airbox back on, ta da!!! problem solved even got some of my low end power back and even better throttle response with the factory intake than the weapon r which was nice but lossed a lil high end because of going from the weapon r to stock. now i have read that the old weapon r intake used to give out problems like this or similar to this about the piping where the MAF goes is too mig or something but they fixed it, actually they completely redesigned it. so now its bugging me. what the hell should i do about an intake. should i just scrap the weapon r and get a real deal injen cold air intake like ive been wanting or just say to hell with it and deal with the lil problem or put the factory back on and leave it?

If you want an intake, at this point I'd say sell what you have and get something else. I don't know if there's anything else going on with it, but it sounds like you've narrowed the problem down to the intake as the source. Forget that one and move along.

the only question i got is why would the intake make the car run like that. no one else has experienced these problems.

yea well weird thing happened. i put the intake back on and reset the ecu and it seems to be running fine again. so i guess every once in a while ill just have to reset it. or idk what happened. actually to think about it i didnt reset the ecu after i cleaned the filter and MAF maybe that was the problem idk. guess nothign wrong with the weapon r intake after all.

yes i sure did. i reset it twice since ive had it too. didnt make it any better. but its cool i got rid of it and im now running a fujita cold air and couldnt be happier. get more power from it then i did from the weapon r and none of the problems i was having with the weapon r. i def recommend CAI FTW!!! changed my mind quick.
