Default Seafoam and TC with supercharger ???

Hello all,

I have an automatic 05 TC with supercharger added at 48K miles approximately. Car currently has close to 75K miles.

I have recently seafoamed a buddy's Mazda 6 through the brake booster line, and it worked wonders. Fixed his idling issue and smoothed out his acceleration and start up.

Has anybody successfully done this on a TC w/ supercharger? I was thinking of having the brake booster line suck up 1/3 of the can just before the line turns into metal out from the engine (I hope this i the right line).

I am scared that while seafoam is cleaning out the engine components that it might harm the S/C itself, or is that even possible?

Any input is appreciated, THANKS!!!

i would not do this on a tc period... not all cars are seafoam friendly. the rings on the tc are very delicate and thin. Also since they are placed high on the piston ring that seafoam is gona merk those rings and turn them into butter. you might be able to get away with it on a honda or some other cars but on a toyota i would highly not recommend it. Ive seen someone i know locally do it regardless of what i would advise and now they are rebuilding the motor because of it.

Is there any other type of product you would recommend in terms of engine or fuel cleaner that is TC safe?

I'd done it to my N/A tC....The only problem I had was the damage it did to the already questionable cat. Luckily- The emissions warranty took care of that.

you can put seafoam through the brake booster or other vacuum hose, throttle body, gas tank or put some with your motor oil. with all versions when the seafoam has passed through the system i suggest a change of plugs cuz of all the crap that gets cleaned out. and do not put too much since seafoam is a corrosive and combustible material it can mess up ur motor.

brake booster/vacuum hose - with the car running unplug the hose and pour a little bit at a time. 1/8 of the bottle is fine. you will smoke a bit at first sometimes it'll seem like it will burp or hiccup but will smooth out.

throttle body - take off maf, iac(if you have one on the tc), vacuum hose and intake tube. using a funnel or folded paper can be used to pour straight into the throttle body. same with using the hose it will smoke a bit then smooth out.

gas tank - add 1/8 to 1/4 depending on tank size and how full it is.

motor oil - before changing your motor oil pour 1/8 of the bottle in the filler neck. run for 5 minutes then dump oil and change filter.

yes I wouldn't try something as risky as Seafoam, just don't like it.

The safest is 44k fuel cleaner by BG Products. You take your gas down to a little under 1/4 tank, dump the 44k in (use a funnel), fill the gas up, then run that through. Afterwards, you get get an oil change since 44k can mix a little via the cylinder walls into the oil, diluting it a little.

But 44k is safe, I've been using it for some time with other cars and others here have used it. Best stuff out there.

about $15-20 a can. Use it every 15k miles.

yup yup, I used to use BG on my porsche 944t. Def works well. The valves had some chatter to them (notorious on the porsche's ) and after running BG and switching to full syn the tapping subsided completely. It eats carbon deposits and cleans out the injectors.
