Do you have to have a weighted shift **** with the TWM stage 2? Or can you use the stock shift ****? And does it make a difference?

Yes your OEM **** will work with the Stage 2 Shifter. However, there lies an advantage to having a weighted **** on the short shifter. Since the Shift **** is heavy, it will act as a counterweight when shifting; thus making for easier and more fluid shifts even though the shifter has been stiffened up.

The weighted **** is a great addition to the short shifter in terms of feel and I highly recommend it!

I got a question for you TWM. What do the base bushings basically do? I went on your site and still am confused about their role in shifting.

Oh wow, you're in luck that Doc had it in stock. I tried ordering one a year ago or more but there were no units available. From what I hear you'll love it.

^If you have a new kit it should have came with some. Did you buy it used? Lithium grease is what you'll want to use.

That's weird, but yea you'll want white lithium grease. You can see what Doc uses in the pic here...

also i see that he uses a table vicegrip to remove the cap from the ball end of the stock shifter. is there a way to do this without the vicegrip since i dont have one?

I don't recall using a vise grip at all for my short throw shifter install. There's a DIY that was done on here with pics, I looked at that one before the shifter arrived. Also there are torque specs for the bolts for the shifter cage, it's in inch pounds so I went to Autozone and rented their smaller read torque wrench for a day. I'm just that OCD about things.

installed it yesterday and its a huge difference in the car. took me and my friend 5 hours cause we tried to get the clip off with a flathead instead of a dremel and we had issue with the shifter cup removal but eventually we got it done.
