spipe=deeper sound?
right now my set up is stock down pipe...tsudo mid...and hks axleback. looking for the deepest sound possible. will the downpipe help with a deeper tone. and also will it add that airy sucking sound when the rpms go down? and can you feel any power diffference?!?!
a good s-pipe will not impact the sound too much, as there isn't anything in the stock s-pipe or any after market s-pipe that has any kind of noise surpression. it will have some effect as the increase in exhaust gas flow will make the car alittle louder. but i'm not sure if it will be deeper. that property comes more from the muffler and resonator as they are what cancel out rasp and higher pitched buzzy noises that are less desirable and leave the deeper tones.
yea im stopping there i wouldnt dare get a header with a 4cyl. no chance and im not looking for louder. im looking for deeper growl ( as much as i can get without having a sti hahhahaha)
im running the megan drift spec with a invidia downpipe and some say it sounds almost like a sti nice and deep....i had the megan header on and it didnt become to much rasp actually made it a little deeper but louder rasp above 4k rpm....i personally like it the DME on the other hand was no good...but any how i would stick with just a full exhasut and downpipe..header wouldnt do much but give you a loud car
Get a 2.5" since that is the smallest aftermarket replacement. I would recommend getting one from here since they are cheap and no frills but completely perfect for NA or mild boost.

It's made to OEM spec but I don't own one myself. Just a cheap alternative. My buddy's Megan mid-pipe didn't line up that great with the TRD exhaust and a stock S-Pipe so it's anybody's guess. It's always good to have a good welder in company.
Unfortunately, only one way to find out. I replaced a stock S-Pipe with a Megan and everything lined up perfect so take from that what you will and best of luck! You gotta remember that this stuff is usually hand made with jigs so there will be imperfections from time to time.
