Default SRI filter cleaning - what kit?

So i was wondering if there was a certain kit that I needed to use to clean my tenzo SRI intake filter.
K&N and Injen have their own kit to clean, but how about others?
Does it really matter?

Just dont oil it,it can mess up the sensor in the intake.....You can also use Dawn Dish soap.......used to use that on my KN filter in the Goat and it cleans it right up very nicely.

That is a mistake to not oil the filter, especially in certain areas with dusty roads. Regardless of the fact, the filter should be oiled every time you clean it. This catches the fine particles that can pass through the mesh.

Experiment with the bottle and do some test drops to see how much, and the speed it drops out. Once you get a feel for it lightly put the droplits on the filter and don't put droplits within like half inch of the rubber edges. The oil will be colored, so you can see what areas you touched. So oil very lightly and go back and touch up some areas after your done your first time, and let it sit like 15 mins. 1 oil droplit spreads further than you think, GL.
