Default SRI for tC CEL problem

it's like 3 in the morning lol so sorry for the crappy grammar and all that.

ok, installed a short ram intake and got a CEL after about 20 min of driving afterwards. Went to autozone and got a free CEL check and it said I was running too lean. Said he wasn't allowed to tell me the code number, i have no idea why nor did he tell me how lean it was running but oh well it was a free reading. Anyways, Everything is VERY snug and secured, i've went over it 4 or 5 times and had other people go over it. Yes i installed it correctly. The SRI isn't anything fancy so i had to go out and buy an adapter for the MAF. Got everything to work w/ the intake... but I'm not 100% sure on why my CEL is on. I've read a lot of posts and many said reset the CEL by disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds then idling for 5 minutes after reconnecting. Did that twice... (not in a row) and still had the CEL come on. Many suggested on other forums that the MAF is probably destroyed and i highly doubt that's the case because if the MAF is destroyed, if you turn the car on and while idling you slightly tap the topside of it, the car's rpm's will shoot up a bit (please don't go into detail if i'm slightly off about that.) and mine doesn't do that. Anyways, I think that I just need to clean it because that seems to be the solution for most. What can I use to clean this?

Any other information that's useful will be appreciated greatly, thanks.

Alright well I cleaned it, checked again to make sure there we no leaks what-so-ever and then i reset the code by disconnecting the battery. After about 20 miles or so the light came back on . I called scion and they said for almost every intake they've seen they've had this problem. I think they person i spoke to had no idea what he was talking about... There has to be a solution. The only thing I can think of is getting the ECU tuned but that's like $200... and the MAP should adjust to the correct fuel ratio shouldn't it? By the way the code # is P0171 (running too lean). Seriously though... there has to be some way to fix this.

Please help, thanks.

hmm so i had it cleared at a dealership and after a while it still came back . I have noticed something really awkward though, in 5th or 4th gear around 3k RPM when i put it into neutral it stays in gear! It's a little hard to explain alright so in simple terms. When at 3k or above and put into neutral the rpm gauge still reads 3k rpm (or w/e it was) and still continues to push the car as if it was in gear and i was leaving it at 3k. After about 30 or so seconds it will go back down to the default (800 i think) rpm... Car is normal except it's a bit laggy on on acceleration but faster on top end speed. I think that's because of the VVTI system because i think the powerband is at 4k?

Alright well i've read tuns of posts on this and talked to massive amounts of people and majority of them who had it didn't know how to cure it. XD!!!!

well it seems you have done all the usual stuff to fix so i suggest replacing the maf sensor(new or junkyard) and/or ditch the sri and replace with the stock air box. I would try the stock air box and see what happens before anything els. I kinda have a hunch it may have something to do with your maf adapter. hope this helps
